Lol, I just wanted to write it even though it sounds lame!

Any ways, this mini-reviews of books I read awhile ago and still wanted to review them after all. 

I hope you enjoy them, and find something to your linking. 

Ill be posting a post/review a week. I would like to read more this summer so I'll stay at this slow rhythm for a while.

Ugly to Start With  by John Michael Cummings
This collection of short stories follows the same protagonist, Jason, through different periods of his life. Although  the stories are not truly connected, they all allow the reader to come to know Jason and how he develops his character through different encounters and events. Also, each story presents a subtle social issues that are present in the american society.  For me, Ugly to Start with is an example of how a story can be told with minimum words and still have all the necessary ingredients to tackle the imagination and make the reader aware of certain issues.

Citation de lecture- Great Expectations de Charles Dickens

 Il a longtemps que je n'ai pas présenté une citation. Pour ceux qui ne savent pas, la citation de lecture est un billet où je présente une citation d'un livre que je lis présentement tout en expliquant son importance.

Le livre que je lis présentement est Great Expectations de Charles Dickens. Ma sœur m'avait donné ce livre à mon anniversaire il y a quelque année. Mais, je n'ai jamais eu le goût ni le temps pour le lire. Je l'ai entamé maintement après avoir lu un autre livre, Mister Pip de  Lloyd Jones ou Great Expectations est un élément central. Ceci m'a intriguée, donc je le lis maintenant.

Alors la citation que je vous présente est de chapitre XIX, page 151. C'est en Anglais, mais avec mes explications vous allez sûrement en comprendre le sens.

« Heaven knows we need never be shamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried than before ­­­- more sorry, more aware of my own ingratitude, more gentle. If I had cried before, I should have had Joe with me then. »

Juste pour mettre la citation en contexte, Pip, le personnage principal, est un garçon de compagne. À ce stade du roman, il y a un mystérieux bienfaiteur qui va faire de lui un gentilhomme. Au moment où il quitte sa famille et marche vers l'haut du village, il vide sa tristesse.
Ce que j'ai aimé dans ce passage est sa vérité. Après un bon quart d'heure en pleur, on pense différemment. Je parle ici d'une expérience personnelle aussi. Donc, pour Pip, Après avoir libéré l'émotion qui l'agitait, il peut mieux saisir la situation dans laquelle il est. C'est un processus essentiel pour arriver à la bonne réalisation.
Pour ma part, j'ai eu aussi l'aide de mon père pour m'ouvrir les yeux et me ressaisir.

Donc, mes chers lecteurs, "never have shame of your tears", les larmes sont la première étape à la raison.
