My Thoughts On - Beautiful Darkness by Fabien Vehlmann

This is a messed up twisted mind boggling comic. It follows the story of groups of little people whose life has changed when the girl they were living in dies in the woods. The dynamic between them shifts, alliances are forged and loyalties tested and disturbingly broken very easily. This comic brings to light the worst behaviors of humans as individuals and as a society. It makes me shudder that this is a possible outcome of our society if everyone became selfish and discarded any moral boundaries. 

This type of social behavior remind me of the movie The Lobster. It is just as twisted and shudder causing as this comic by its disregard to morals and human decency. 

I did not enjoy this read nor the place it took me to.

Une séries de nouvelles qui montre une facette de notre société. La vie de tout les jours devient le centre d'attention de l'auteur et qui fait ressortir l'humeur, la rage, l'ennuie et l'excitation qui peuplent notre vie de manière continue. Chaque nouvelle est une fenêtre sur la vie d'une personne où on découvre ce qui la préoccupe dans son quotidien que ce soit sa vie personnel, sa relation avec sa conjointe, ses élèves, ses voisins ou sa famille, etc.

J'ai particulièrement aimé "Le Troue". C'était très amusant de voir la passion du professeur pour la littérature et les noms. "Le Lait" était un peu troublant psychologiquement, car le conflit frère et sœur était intense à un si jeune âge. 

C'est une bonne lecture pour se divertir et redécouvrir le quotidien.

The reason I borrowed this graphic novel from the library is the media hype it generated. The premise is about This One Summer that is different and important in Rose's life where her parents fight and she and her friend Windy get to see teenagers live their drama-filled summer with all the crying and heartaches.

The only reason I embarked on this journey to read  books is the movie. Yes, I know. It should have been the opposite effect but City of Bones caught my attention by it cheesy acting and the premise of the story with the painting trick Claire and her mother have. In the course of last year I read all six books whenever I was able between classes and exams. Since It's been such a long time form my first book of the series, I only remember what I felt while reading it so some facts might not be accurate.

J'aime le livre. Les personnages sont simples, crédibles et très sympathiques. Leia est une protagoniste qui est fort aimable dès la première page. L'intrigue est bien présentée et les lieux sont décrits d'une manière qui fait de la nouvelle une lecture fluide et facile. Malgré que la fin est prévisible, il ouvre votre esprit à imaginer à des possibilités entièrement différentes et vous donne envie d'en savoir plus sur le monde que Jen Minkman a créé.
