Review - The Island by Jen Minkman

What would happen if society as we know it would collapse and the only survivors were a handful of kids left on an island? What sort of world would they create for themselves when the only reference they have is a story book?
Leia lives in such a world. A world where only the Force could be relied on.  She struggles to find the truth about her world and that behind the Wall. Will she be able to step up to the challenge when the faith of her people falls into her hands?

From paranormal to dystopian, Jen Minkman knows how to keep you hocked.
The Island, a novella, takes you to a different place, with different rules. Adventure, love and curiosity are intertwined in this imaginative tale. You would not want to put the book down.
I enjoy the book. The characters are simple, believable and very sympathetic. Leia is a strong protagonist who is lovable from the first page. The setting and the storyline are well though which make the novella a smooth and easy read. Although, the end is predictable, it opens your mind to whole different possibilities and makes you want to know more about the world Jen Minkman created. Can I maybe suggest a sequel? It would be an equally interesting read.
